We bring different perspectives to the table, but we’re united by a love for purposeful work and real connection.
Briefly, I am a Near Eastside Indianapolis resident, recently retired nonprofit leader, minister, and advocate for our east-of-downtown community. Locally, I’ve led John Boner Neighborhoods Centers, Horizon House, and Near East Area Renewal (NEAR). I’ve served as lead minister at Shepherd Community Center and East 10th United Methodist Churches.
I live in the St. Clair Place neighborhood. I’m married to Jodi Krumel. I have four children and nine grandchildren. I’ve bicycled in India, Vietnam, Kenya, Chile, Ireland, and the Netherlands. I lead a local, weekly bicycle group ride that explores and celebrates the Near Eastside Community. Ride with us: @neareastsidecommunityride. I have a passion for neighborliness and local connectivity, and I advocate for systemic justice at all levels.
I am serving as a consultant and convener for Rekindle—exploring the possibility of a new faith community on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis that is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
